Chicken and Carrot Mash- Baby Food Recipes

People who know me well are aware of my obsession for Bollywood and Chicken . You ask me which heroine is dating whom , which film is that hero planning to sign and yeah his/ her favorite dish to favorite hangout places I can answer in all languages, that too for hours without a break. *Smiling*

I am a Chicketerian , to the extent that I can happily drown in a bowl of chicken curry if you offer me 😛

Coming to this recipe, chicken carrot mash was prepared by me when Anshika rejected the chicken soup I made for her . I had made chicken soup expecting that she would clean off the bowl. But as always the unexpected happened. She didn’t like the watery soup and refused to open her mouth . Call me an adamant mom, I wanted her to eat chicken and didn’t want to waste what I prepared . So, I thought why don’t I make a chicken mash out of this for her? Thus, a new dish, chicken carrot mash was born.

Chicken carrot mash is an excellent way of introducing chicken to your 8 month old baby. Chicken is rich in protein whereas carrots are full of beta-carotene, antioxidants and minerals. It is an ideal dinner for toddlers and kids as well.

 Ingredients Required

Chicken – 1 or 2 pieces (boneless/ with bone )

Carrot – 1 medium

Salt – a pinch

Garlic – 1 clove

Water – 1/2 cup

Butter – 1 tsp.

How To Prepare Chicken Carrot Mash

Clean and wash the chicken pieces thoroughly . There is no need to debone the chicken

Cook chicken , cleaned carrot , salt , garlic and water in a pressure cooker till it becomes tender

When cooled , debone the chicken and shred into small pieces

Puree the mixture along with the shredded chicken to the required consistency and add butter

A delicious and nutritious chicken carrot mash is ready to be served to your little customer :)

The garlic clove can be discarded if your child doesn’t like the taste. I pureed it along with the chicken and carrots , so the taste of garlic didn’t stand out

You can add butter along with carrots and chicken before cooking in the pressure cooker

Cheese can also be added to the mixture thus making it a yummy cheese chicken carrot mash

That sure sounds a tasty and nutritious recipe for your baby or toddler. As always remember if you are introducing a new food to your baby, wait for two-three days to see any reactions or allergies before you introduce another new food.
